To keep your feet healthy, proper care and hygiene are essential. Preventive and consistent treatment helps avoid injuries (calluses, corns, etc.) caused by footwear or the pressure our feet exert while walking. Proper nail trimming also prevents painful ingrown toenails.

Services

Chiropody. Dermatological Podiatry

  • Nail trimming and filing.
  • Treatment of corns and calluses.
  • Treatment of ingrown toenails: orthonyxia, braces, nail surgery.
    • Ingrown toenails are caused by improper nail growth or incorrect trimming. If left untreated, the discomfort will increase until the pain becomes unbearable. Infection and pus production are quite likely. Treatment of plantar warts and papillomas.
    • Papilomas are viral growths that develop on the soles of the feet due to contact with damp areas such as showers, swimming pools, etc.
    • If left untreated, these infections can quickly spread deep into the soles of the feet and are contagious to others.
  • Disorders of sweating, hyperhidrosis.
  • Treatment of fungal infections.

NAIL RECONSTRUCTION.

  • Reconstruction of nails damaged by trauma or affected by disease or infection, in order to restore their normal appearance.
  • The reconstruction can be done with polymer resin or with a gel treated with clotrimazole, thus preventing fungal growth.

BIOMECHANICS.

  • Biomechanics studies the mechanical behavior of the foot and lower limb.
  • We evaluate and treat problems of mechanical origin in the foot.
  • The primary treatment for mechanical problems is functional orthotics, insoles that correct the mechanical function of the foot during gait.
  • A thorough biomechanical gait analysis and examination is essential to identify deformities affecting the foot structure, such as flat feet, high arches, and valgus deformities.
  • Our podiatrists will correct these deformities with insoles or orthotics that protect the feet from friction or prevent injuries. All are custom-made and easy for the patient to put on.

MINIMALLY INVASIVE SURGERY.

  • Minimally invasive foot surgery, often incorrectly called laser surgery, is a set of surgical techniques that, through small incisions and with minimal trauma to the tissues, allow for the treatment of pathologies or deformities such as: hallux valgus (bunion), claw or hammer toes, dorsal or interdigital corns, heel spurs, metatarsalgia, etc.
  • The advantages of this type of surgery are numerous:
    • Regarding anesthesia, local anesthesia is used, applied only to the foot; therefore, hospitalization is not required, and most importantly, the patient walks out of the operating room.
    • Because minimal tissue damage occurs, several techniques can be performed simultaneously, thus resolving multiple pathologies at once, with only mild postoperative pain.
    • Since the incisions are minimal, the risk of infection is reduced to a minimum, and the scar is virtually invisible.
    • The surgical site is secured with functional bandages, thus avoiding the use of plaster casts, nails, needles, and other materials that could cause rejection or require further surgery for removal. Most importantly, this results in minimal disability for the patient.
    • These techniques promote a rapid recovery. A typical bunion surgery using this technique is fully recovered in just 6 WEEKS!! 45 DAYS!!!

DIABETIC FOOT

  • Diabetic foot is a condition that affects people with diabetes and causes sensory, neurological, and vascular alterations in the lower extremities, leading to infections, ulcerations, and other problems.
  • We perform a comprehensive evaluation, including a neurological examination, Doppler ultrasound, Yao index assessment, etc. We then apply the appropriate treatments for improvement and healing, such as orthotics, silicone orthoses, ulcer treatment, etc.

Treatment

  • Nail trimming and cleaning.
  • Removal of calluses and corns.
  • Treatment of ingrown toenails.
  • Foot massage.
  • Custom orthotics available.
